====== L-3I Repeater Station ====== The actual equipment at an L-3I repeater station is installed underground in a concrete vault. For the safety and comfort of technicians performing maintenance, there is a distinctive metal shed above ground. In many cases today, the shed has been removed, leaving only the concrete foundation and hatch into the vault (universally welded shut). L-3I repeater stations can be located by the yellow (often faded to white), arrow-shaped marker signs placed by the nearest major road to help technicians locate them. These signs have black lettering with the repeater designation, a three-character code like "L3W," and point the way towards the station {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_171541.jpg?direct&400 |}} ===== Photos ===== These photos are from a station abandoned with its door open in New Mexico. {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_172734.jpg?direct&400 |}} {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_172414.jpg?direct&400 |}} {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_172401.jpg?direct&400 |}} {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_172335.jpg?direct&400 |}} {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_172322.jpg?direct&400 |}} {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_172313.jpg?direct&400 |}} {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_172301.jpg?direct&400 |}} {{ :carriers:l3station:img_20170512_172221.jpg?direct&400 |}}
