====== Maps ====== Here you will find a collection of historic maps of telephone and telecommunications lines. They are collected from various sources, many of which were already secondhand collections---so a source is noted when possible, but it's hard to be 100% certain where these all came from. The maps are presented by the year they were created and the name shown on the map, when possible. The M# is a //TD-2 Control Number//, a scheme invented just to make it a little easier to refer to specific maps when they come up in different places online. The Authority column contains any source markings from the map itself, typically date published and sometimes a drawing number. ===== Long Lines System Maps ===== ^ Year ^ Map ^ M# ^ Authority ^ Source ^ Notes ^ ^ 1890 | {{:maps:system:1890_system_map.jpg?linkonly|Lines and Metallic Circuit Connections}} | M19 | Jan. 1 1890 | via Telecom Archaeology | ^ 1900 | {{:maps:system:1900_system_map.jpg?linkonly|Lines and Metallic Circuit Connections}} | M20 | May 1900 | via Telecom Archaeology | ^ 1909 | {{:maps:system:1909_system_map.jpg?linkonly|Lines of the Bell Telephone Companies }} | M14 | Jul. 1 1909 | via Telecom Archaeology | ^ 1922 | {{:maps:system:1922_system_map.jpg?linkonly|Routes of the American Telephone and Telegraph Company and Associated Companies}} | M21 | | via Telecom Archaeology | ^ 1936 | {{:maps:system:1936_system_map.png?linkonly|Toll Lines of the Bell Telephone System}} | M17 | | via Telecom Archaeology | ^ 1941 | {{ :maps:system:1941_long_lines_map.pdf|Routes of American Telephone and Telegraph Company, Long Lines Department }} | M1 | Jan. 1 1941 | via Telecom Archaeology | ^ 1941 | {{ :maps:system:1941_bradband_routes.jpg?linkonly|Present and Proposed Routes of Broad Band Carrier Systems}} | M2 | Dec. 31 1941 | | ^ 1948 | {{ :maps:system:1948_system_map.jpg?linkonly | Routes of American Telephone and Telegraph Company, Long Lines Department }} | M15 | Jun. 1 1948 | via Telecom Archaeology | ^ 1952 | {{ :maps:system:1952_general_map.jpg?linkonly|Principal toll routes of the Bell System}} | M3 | BSTJ Sep. 1952 p 836 | | ^ 1955 | {{ :maps:system:1955_system_map.pdf | Routes of American Telephone and Telegraph Company, Long Lines Department }} | M16 | Dwg.
