====== GWEN ======

GWEN, or the "Ground-Wave Emergency Network," was a 1980s survivable radio communications system fielded by the Air Force. GWEN was never completed, and the sites that were built proved short lived. Some had a second life as Coast Guard DGPS stations, an economical reuse of the property and towers.
