Here you will find a collection of historic maps of telephone and telecommunications lines. They are collected from various sources, many of which were already secondhand collections---so a source is noted when possible, but it's hard to be 100% certain where these all came from. The maps are presented by the year they were created and the name shown on the map, when possible. The M# is a

	* Better front-page map - probably needs some custom OpenLayers development to hide labels at low zoom levels or otherwise improve readability.
	* Modify the KML generation to improve icons.
	* Add tag index pages.
	* Write a contributor's guide.

The Tucumcari station is a power feed for the transcontinental L-3I cable. It is located some distance south of Tucumcari. Unlike most of the L-3I undergrounds in the West, it has a rather modern and relatively large surface building, suggesting that it's seen significant reuse for some type of equipment.

Like other L-3I main stations, this is an underground, hardened station. There is no microwave tower at Kingman, and it has not received any of the additional underground buildings common at some other L-3I stations. There is just the surface entry structure (in its original white and blue paint), ventilation, and a hoistway.

Socorro, or Socorro #2, was a switching main station for the transcontinental L-3I station. It's a relatively large station for the system, as it housed an AUTOVON tandem and served (at least for a time) as an alternate regional NOC and synchronization clock source.

GWEN, or the “Ground-Wave Emergency Network,” was a 1980s survivable radio communications system fielded by the Air Force. GWEN was never completed, and the sites that were built proved short lived. Some had a second life as Coast Guard DGPS stations, an economical reuse of the property and towers.
